Sweet & Tangy Sloppy Josephs (Gourmet Sloppy Joes)
This Sloppy Joe Recipe can easily be made LOW CARB.
Prep & cook time: 40 mins. (4 servings)
YOUR LOCAL FRESH SHOPPING LIST:
♦ 2 lbs. Ground Beef
♦ 2 T. (1/2 packet) Spitfire Gourmet Sweet & Tangy
♦ 1/2 Onion
♦ 1/2 Green Pepper
♦ 1/2 cup Ketchup
♦ 1 T. Dijon Mustard
♦ 1 T. Worcestershire
♦ 1/4 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
♦ Ground Cloves (just a pinch)
♦ 8 Buns
1. In a large skillet or wok, melt 1 T. Butter, then cook Ground Beef for about 8 minutes. Pour meat into a strainer to drain.
2. Add 1/2 Onion (chopped) and 1/2 Green Pepper (chopped) to the skillet, and saute for about 5 minutes (until translucent).
3. Stir in 1/2 cup Ketchup, 1 T. Mustard, 1 T. Worcestershire, 1/4 t. Cinnamon & 2 T. (1/2 packet) Spitfire Gourmet Sweet & Tangy.
4. Add ground beef back into skillet. Stir, and Pepper to taste. Gourmet Tip: Add Ground Cloves a pinch at a time to taste (about 1/16 tsp.). Cook on medium for 15 minutes.
WINE: This recipe pairs nicely with Malbec or Grenache (red),
or Champagne or Chardonnay (white).
♦ Serve on toasted Buns.
♦ Great with Sweet & Tangy Gourmet Coleslaw or fruit salad.
♦ This recipe works fantastic in a slow cooker… just eliminate the butter, mix everything together, and cook!
