green bean casserole

Cheesy Green Bean Casserole

This recipe can easily be made LOW CARB.

Prep & cook time: 45 mins. (8-12 servings)

Your local fresh shopping list:
♦ 1 pack Spitfire Gourmet Boozy Bouillon

♦ 1/4 c. Dry Vermouth Wine (found at any liquor store)
♦ 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup

♦ 8 oz. Cream Cheese
♦ 8 oz. grated Sharp Cheddar
♦ 64 oz. (about 10 cups) frozen or fresh Green Beans
♦ 1 small can Fried Onions
♦ 4 slices Bacon

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 375°. In a large pot, steam Beans just a bit to warm to al dente, and drain. Cut Bacon into bits, and cook in a small sauce pan for just a few minutes (not crispy).

Gourmet Tip:
Rather than cooking frozen beans, just run hot water over them in a large colander to thaw to crunchy.

2. In another sauce pan on low heat, whisk Spitfire Gourmet Boozy Bouillon into Dry Vermouth wine, and then add Cream Cheese and Sharp Cheddar, constantly stirring until blended & warm.

3. Mix all ingredients above together in a large pot or bowl, adding the Mushroom Soup. Spread mixture in a baking dish, top with Crunchy Onions, and bake at 375° uncovered for 30 minutes (until veggies are colorful, NOT dark & mushy).

VARIATIONS:
♦ Try this recipe with broccoli, cauliflower or other veggies. Even try adding chicken and pre-cooked potatoes.
